SIM Form Factor Selector
Answer 5 quick questions about your deployment and we'll recommend the right physical SIM form factor — from removable Nano SIMs to soldered MFF2 chips and eSIM.
Question 1 of 5
What environment will the device operate in?
Answer all 5 questions and we'll recommend the best SIM form factor for your IoT deployment. This tool compares 2FF (Mini), 3FF (Micro), 4FF (Nano), MFF2 (Embedded), and eSIM options.
Understanding SIM form factors for IoT
Choosing the right SIM form factor is critical for IoT device design. Removable SIMs (2FF, 3FF, 4FF) allow easy field replacement but take up more space and add a potential point of failure. Embedded SIMs (MFF2) are soldered to the PCB, offering superior durability and a tiny footprint but requiring remote provisioning for carrier changes.
eSIM (eUICC) technology adds a software layer that enables over-the-air carrier switching regardless of physical form factor. This is increasingly important for global deployments where devices may need to connect to different networks in different countries.
